He was into Eastern ideas,I guess the Beatles/Harrison influence apart from anything else like I just said, all that reading too...another thing I love about him

he'll always be kinda overlooked I guess. even the Ashetons still are

Which really pisses me off. Iggy IS great, but without the Ashetons there is no STOOGES, the best band of them all.

It's the same old shit with the Stones sometimes, though Keith has gotten his due for a while now.

Phil Collins is a great example of an awful musician don't you think? Laughing

I don't if Phil is an awful musician. Well, he doesn't play any music like the Stooges or Iggy or whoever.. But he is a great drummer for instance. But..I think we don't have to mention him here since..it's not a Genesis forum lol!

Yeah, so...

about the jazz influence in the band while Dave was there, his onetime girlfriend did say that he listened to a lot of jazz but unfortunately she couldn't name which artists, exactly. I guess just the usual, coltrane, sanders davis et al. but then of course the whole band was into jazz and stuff, then.

good shout Shakes! Very Happy 'dirt' is obviously mentioned a lot in connection with his playing but I get more and more impressed with the bass in 'No Fun' all the time

That they mentioned Dave! I was actually thinking, before I looked at it, that they would NEVER mention dave.. Just the usual jim morrison, brian jones and hendrix or cobain, that sort of thing, but there he was! Some people got sense in that music magazine after all.

I think that you can hear him speak a little in the Complete Funhouse Sessions. Too bad that it's just audio so you don't know who's talking.

All I have is the Boxing Ring take of TV Eye. My theory is when you hear that shout "You're Cheap!!", that could possibly be Dave. It could also be Scott but I've heard Scott speak and he doesn't sound like that.

Alright then as this thread is about Dave, we'll take about him, I guess. I heard that he dropped out of the first 45 minutes of his Senior year in high school in order to win a bet. Other sources read that he got kicked out for long hair (even though he had longer hair than Ron and Ron got kicked out first). Which one could be true?

OK I just found the button. At the time when I wrote those comments I didn't know where it was. I'm not exactly too observant or good at computers as you probably saw.

Can you please give me a link to that pictures thread. I've seen a few different pictures thread already.

Is it the one where there's 50 pages?
