It has to be generated from a database but keeping that up to date must be an immense task.

I don't see how a lot of these bands are related? Like the Misfits and Black Flag...other than being influenced by Iggy and the Stooges.

Well "Wild America" by Iggy featured a spoken word part with Henry Rollins who was in Black Flag. No idea about the Misfits though.

thats so cool, ive been progressively making a list of all the bands that were influenced by or like stooges/iggy, just to piss everyone off when they make fun of them or call them shit (for example, the other day, we had songs goin, and they like "alternative" shit, ie exactly what stooges created, grunge, metal etc and i wanted to put on something that would rip them apart, so i put on the iggy mix of pretty face and....nothing lol, they joked and said the sound was broken and turned it over! bastards!) but all the bands they like were inspired by stooges, which i like to throw back in their faces lol
