Jack Johnson and Iggy Pop are to release live albums and both of them have been set for June 22 release date.

Jack Johnson’s effort is called 'En Concert' and it will be accompanied with a movie on DVD and Blu-Ray whilst Iggy Pop will release a new long player called 'Live in Cleveland' a couple of weeks after he’s jazz album called 'Preliminaires'.

Live In Cleveland - I wonder when this was recorded?
Surely it's not the old Suck On This / Wild Animal / Sister Midnight etc etc show from Cleveland 21/03/77 again...?

If it had China Girl it wouldn't be so bad...I'd long thought at least *one* of the encores had been recorded, having read something that suggested China Girl was years back.

Last night I saw a list online that confirmed it, but it was very clearly worded in a way that said only Iggy trades for Iggy trades and the guy had just about everything under the sun .

I'd buy Cleveland 77 if it had Chine Girl on it this time, that's my position.

is this the one thats also going about as the mantra sessions? what are the dates for these gigs?

Mantra Sessions was in Chicago, 28.3.77, Cleveland was 21/22.3.77

that better not be the cover, looks terrible, and its iggys gig and he's barely even on it lol and whats up with "I Need Someone" lol

Typical - the song order is all messed up, there's a pic of Bowie from 1987 and one of Iggy from the last ten years, and they even get the song title right! Iggy's catalogue deserves far better than this sort of shoddy repackaging. And as for it being remastered in 2009 - I'll be willing to bet it will sound just the same as all the other issues of this gig.

dunno, just assumed they were the same gig, didnt look at the track times, maybe theyre different nights or something

Doubt it...much as I like that tour, it was almost like clockwork...I suspect the times are wrong, or simply the tracks are edited differently (ie the cuts in different place in the applause), or even the tracks are mixed up - quite possible given the pictures used

the tracks arent labelled correctly

i clicked to listen to the sample of search and it was sister midnight

dunno about the rest of them, only checked a few, i think no fun was no fun, but search was definitly sister midnight
