Is it just me or does anybody else think that iggy should work with Bowie again as it seems that was the only time he made any decent music?

Welcome, but what a contentious first post!!
Everyone's entitled to their opinion but I have a feeling, just a hunch, that hardly anyone here will agree with you...

There are some things in the past that need to remain in the past.

The Stooges and Bowie together being at the top of my list.

Stooges rock!!! Let the Diamond dogs sleep!

Itīs just you.

But there's little truth in there...David Bowie needs Iggy Pop...workin with Iggy was the only time David Bowie made any decent music. Yes, David Bowie needs Iggy, but Iggy sure as hell dont need Bowie at all...He can stand on his own or with The Stooges.
David's career has fallen flat on his ass years ago..

Iggy did "Blah Blah Blah" album with Bowie and in my humble opinion, itīs the worst Iggy Pop album ever.

Yes, "The Idiot" and "Lust For Life" albums were great, but there's plenty of other Iggy's solo albums that are just as great, and there's nothing on this planet, that can ever compete with Iggy's work with the Stooges...

It would be a nice gesture of Iggy to get David back in the business a bit, he's retired for
6 years now. I don't expect another world tour but some new material would be cool from
Bowie.
Many are waiting for him to return to the music scene, especially since Heathen and Reality
were great albums.
So if they'd team up for one new song I'd be certainly positive about it.

I don't like Bowie's music, but I like The Idiot, Lust for life AND Blah Blah Blah (great songs, awfull sound... I like Steve Jones' work with Iggy), so I wouldn't mind. But's its so unrealistic...

Anyway, Iggy can do whatever he wants, I will judge the music, not the musicians.

I loathe 'Blah, Blah, Blah', but mainstream music - all of it - pretty much blew in the 80's.

Compare the goofy live versions of 'Cracked Actor' from the Serious Moonlight tour in '83 (a few years before BBB) to some of his more recent versions, like the BBC shows in the early '00's. Clearly Bowie has returned to his more rocking roots and could do a fantastic job with the Stooges at this point.

A poster on YouTube claims she was sitting next to Bowie at this weeks Hammersmith show, so who knows.

Seeing as Bowie hasn't left New York in years, is rarely seen in public and hasn't publicly performed, or even spoken in quite some time, I would be VERY surprised if he was calmly sitting amongst the Great British Public at Hammersmith.

Bowie hasn't been well for some time - the heart attack on stage in 2004 clearly frightened him and he's been in retirement ever since.

Nick Cave and Warren Ellis apparently had front row seats in the balcony and we saw Glen Matlock looking a little lost before the gig, but Bowie?? Nah.

Cheers,

Richard

Yeah, kinda...

I mean, I do like some of Bowie's solo stuff (mainly the 70's stuff) but I do think...the highlight of Bowie's career was his work with Iggy on "The Idiot" ... I think "The Idiot" with Iggy is still Bowie's finest moment, and everything Bowie did post the Berlin era..naah, I don't really care for that shit. So, I think it's Bowie who really needs Iggy...and not the other way around.

However, I wont post "Bring Back Iggy" on the Bowie fan forum, cause that would be rude and un-called for..even tho it's true.

That's a shame. I had no idea Bowie was in such poor health. Come to think of it, the last 'new' song I heard from him was the excellent 'sad little fat man' bit on 'Extras'.

Still, the poster seemed pretty excited about Bowie being there and I refuse to accept that any and all information on the internets isn't 100% accurate. Very Happy

I'd actually like to see Tony Visconti take a crack at producing new Stooges product. His more recent work w/ Bowie ('Heathen' etc.) was stellar and it would make for a nice link w/ the 70's London glam era.
