Somehow I highly doubt Ritchie Blackmore has ever heard of the Stooges let alone their music.

Wasn't there a story in Please Kill Me about trouble with Ig and James at a Deep Purple aftershow party in '74/'75?

There is a certain similarity but those chords (EGA) in that order are in a million songs thats reading a bit too much into it. I would be surprised if Richie Blackmore was grooving to Funhouse but you never know Smile

The song borrows many melodic elements from the song "Loose" by The Stooges , which was released two years earlier on their 1970 album Fun House (album)

I'm not going that far, just saying I think Don't Burst My Bubble is a fair bet for KOTJ's, considering the anglophile tendencies the MC5 had at one time, and there being at least a couple of other songs on the KOTJ album inspired by English bands (well, one inspired, one shamelessly lifted)

Yep, that's Smoke On The Water. Cheers!

On a similar theme, here's "Black Night" (and "We Ain't Got Nothin' Yet" by The Blues Magoos)
