Gimme Danger is a difficult one to work out (took a young Johnny Marr ages too!) but it goes something like this. The guitar is tuned to E flat.

The chord shape for the intro/chorus is the following:

E---1----------------
B---1----------------
G---1---3-------------
D---1---3-------------
A---1----------------
E---1---------------

You'll have to work out the picking pattern yourself but in the intro it starts on the 7th fret, 5th, 3rd then 0. The chorus goes: 5th fret, 7th, 3rd, 0, 5th, 7th, 3rd, 0

The second part of the intro is as follows:

E------------------------------------------------
B-------------------------------------------0-----
G---------------------------------------0---------
D-----4--2--------------0----------2-------------
A-----2--2------------------0----3---------------
E--0--2--0----0--0--2----------------------------

E--------------------------------------------------
B-----------------------------------------3-------
G--------------------------------------------4-----
D-----4--2---------------0----------2------------
A-----2--2------------------0---3----------------
E--0--2--0----0-0--2-----------------------------

When it rocks out at 1.24 it goes E, G, D, E then back to the chords used in the intro.

I worked out 'Gimme Danger' sorta this:

intro:

E-------------------3-----------||
B----7--------------------------||
G-9----9----7-7-5---5--------||
D-9-------9-7-7-5-----5-7-7-||
A-7----------5-5-3-------7-7--||
E--------------------------5-5--||

melody during the verse:

E------------------------------------------||
B------------------------------------------||
G-11-9-----------------------------9-----||
D-11-9------------9------------------7--||
A--9--7------5-------7------5---5---5--||
E--------5-7----7-------5-7---7---------||

I definately agree with Funhouse -> that one is really tough to do Smile

I can help you out later. Cuz I realized that I gotta find out more about this whole 'open G tuning' stuff Smile I know Keith Richards (James lol) usually plays in that position Smile

Here's also the tab for James' solo in 'Search and Destroy' (at the beginning, in D Sharp):

E----------4--------------------4--------------||
B----5-7-----7-5-----5-----7-----5-7-5-----||
G-6----------------4-----4----------------4--||
D-----------------------------------------------||
A-----------------------------------------------||
E------------------------------------------------||

E-----------------------------------------12------12-14-16-14-12-14-13--||
B-14-14-14-14------12------12-14-----14---------------------------------||
G-----------------13------13---------------------------------------------------||
D--------------------------------------------------------------------------------||
A--------------------------------------------------------------------------------||
E--------------------------------------------------------------------------------||

That's not how it's played, I think there's a lot more bends. For instance

E----------4-----------
B----5-7-----7-5-----
G-6---------

should be more like

E---------------------
B----5-7-7b----7-5-
G-6-----------------

and

E-----------------------------------------
B-14-14-14-14------12------12-14----
G-----------------13------13------------

should be played like this

E----------------------------------------------12------
B-12b-12b-12b-12b------12------12-12b-----14---
G-----------------------13------13-------------------

at least that's how i've played it and you can hear the bends in the song.

Anyone who figured out the lyrics for Open up and bleed? Not the easiest song to hear what Iggy is roaring.
I'm thinking of the demo session version. The best one.

I worked these out from the 4 minutes and 58 seconds version, I think that's the one you're talking about.I found some lyrics on Google but quite a lot of them were wrong but here's what I think they are anyway:

I've been pushed,
I've been shoved too long.
They even tried to buy my song.
But it ain't gonna be that way no more.

In my heart,
I believe it's true.
A man has gotta get at you.
Everybody wants to look the other way.

Yeah, tell me lies.
Place your loving arms around me.

And there's things a man must need.
And don't it make you, make you wanna open up and bleed?
Yeah!
Open up and bleed!

I've been lost,
I've been pushed too long.
I've been down harder than I've been too strong.
Yeah baby, gonna find me another way.

In my soul,
I believe it's true.
I better do what you wanted to.
Yeah, yeah-eah, yeah-eah-eah.

Yeah, tell me lies.
Place your lovin' arms around me.

I bleed.
Yeah, I bleed.

I've been hurt,
And I know itís so.
Even my heart, Iíve been pushed I know.
Yeah body wants to look the other way

In my soul,
I believe it still,
And in my arm is a hole so deep.
Yeah-ah, yeah, yeah-eah, yeah, yeah, yeah-eah.

Yeah, tell me lies,
Place your lovin' arms around me.

And there's things a man must need.
And don't it make you, make you wanna open up and bleed?

Oh yeah.

The "Oh yeah" can be heard only faintly at the end as it fades out. Wink

Penetration (guitar tuned to E flat) more or less goes as follows, though changes slightly second time in the verse:

E----------------------------------------------------------------------
B----------------------------------------------------------------------
G-----------------5---------------------------------------------------
D--------5h7------------5h7-----5--------------5h7----5-----------
A--0-0-------0-----0-0--------0---0-0-7--0-0------0-----0-0------
E----------------------------------------------------------------------

E----------------------------------------------------------------------
B----------------------------------------------------------------------
G-----------0----------0---5------------------------------------------
D--2----2----------4--------------------------------------------------
A-----3----------5-----------------------------------------------------
E-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Enjoy!

It's not a song I know, but going from the Youtube clip it's more or less as follows - not sure about second last chord though (tuning low to high: DGDGBbD):

0--0--0--0--0--0--0--0--4
7--5--5--3--3--0--3--2--0

I managed sorta to work out James' main motiff in 'Delta Blues Shuffle':

(starts at 4:08 -> I did it in A Major)

E-----------------------------------------------------||
B-----2----------------------2-----------------------||
G-----2---------------2-----2-----------------------||
D-----2-------2-2-4--------2-----------------------||
A-0---0-0-4-------------0--0--0-4-----2-3-2-0--||
E--------------------------------------3--------------||

Personally, I like this tune very much. I think James learned that kinda country-honky-tonk style here back when he started to play guitar. As far as I remember his teacher was Rusty Sparks -> the guy who was a local star in Oklahoma Smile

Can somebody help me with the Kill City lyrics of I Got Nothin'? So far a have a basic set of lyrics with a few different possibilities. Here it is:

Man I feel, feel so washed out today.
Burning sheets, on my bed man/Burnt sheets, off my bed man.
Throw that girl away

I got nothin!
Got nothiní to say!
Man I got nothiní!
I got nothiní today!

Man I feel, feel so used inside.
Broken hearts and leather.
Into pride/Enterprise.

Cause I got nothiní!
I got nothiní today!
Man I got nothiní!
I got nothiní to say!

Cause I got nothiní!
I got nothiní to say!
Man I got nothiní!
I got nothiní today!

I got nothin, nothiní today.
Not nothiní.

I see you young girl/I say young girl/I say, youíre young girl
Youíre coming down the road,
But you aint got a chance against the things I know.
Out of the cradle, straight in the hole/show.

Nothiní!

Which lyrics are the right ones or are they all wrong? I'd appreciate some help. Thanks. Very Happy

Man I feel, feel so washed out today
Burning sheets of a mad man
Throw that girl away

I got nothin!
Got nothiní to say!
Man I got nothiní!
I got nothiní today!

Man I feel, feel so used inside
Broken hearts and leather
and Emty Pride

Cause I got nothiní!
I got nothiní today!
Man I got nothiní!
I got nothiní to say!

Cause I got nothiní!
I got nothiní to say!
Man I got nothiní!
I got nothiní today!

I got nothin, nothiní today.
Not nothiní.
